Rose Scordato, 88, Of Wyckoff

WYCKOFF, N.J. – Rose Scordato (nee LiCastri), 88, of Wyckoff, died Sunday, Dec. 13. 

Born in Marineo, Sicily, Italy, she lived in North Haledon and Florida before moving to Wyckoff. 

She was a gifted Bible teacher and was a member of Grace Bible Church of North Haledon. 

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Scordato, who was a former owner of Scordato’s Restaurant of Hawthorne.

Scordato was the mother of Joseph Scordato and his wife, Amelia, Anthony Scordato and his wife Robin, Elisa Mandra and her husband Keith, Janice Rankins, and her husband Robert, Marc Scordato and his wife Alicia and the late Richard Scordato Jr.; grandmother of six and great-grandmother of seven; and sister of the late Antonina Tuzzolino, Maria Barbaccia, Cira Petta, Giuseppe LiCastri and Mariano LiCastri. 

The family will receive family and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes. 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Grace Bible Church, 369 High Mountain Road, North Haledon. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to the Grace Bible Church Abiding Memorial Fund, 369 High Mountain Road, North Haledon.
