CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities in Clearfield County say a former employee of a local McDonald's is facing several charges following an investigation into allegations that he sexually assaulted multiple teen coworkers.
Police say last June, authorities received a report of an alleged rape involving a teenage worker and Taylor English, now age 29, of Curwensville.
Authorities say the report also mentioned a possible second victim, who was reportedly 16 at the time.
Investigators say both English and the victims were reportedly employed at the McDonald's, located along Clearfield-Shawville Highway, in Lawrence Township.
According to the affidavit, police say that on the day of the reported rape, English reportedly took the first victim behind the Super 8 Motel, which is near the restaurant, where he proceeded to "hold her down by her hips" and sexually assault her.
Investigators say the teen disclosed that she was later tested at a healthcare center, in York, due to an alleged pregnancy scare as a result of the alleged assault.
Upon further investigation, police say the teen stated that she reported the alleged rape to her supervisors, at which time English was reportedly moved to a different shift than the one that the victim worked.
Police say they spoke to one of the managers of the restaurant, who confirmed that English began working a different shift at the time, but was unsure of who made the schedule change, or why it was made, as she reportedly was not the person who had approved it.
According to the affidavit, days after the alleged rape, the teen stated that English called her and threatened to harm her and her family if she told anyone.
Police say English also allegedly displayed a firearm during the video call.
Investigators say after the alleged threat, the teen reportedly began telling others, including her coworkers, that the encounter was consensual.
Police say one of the other coworkers also disclosed an alleged incident in which English's former girlfriend allegedly confronted both teens about "having sex" with him.
Authorities say English was eventually fired after he reportedly brought a gun to the restaurant.
Investigators say that when they questioned English about the allegations, he claimed that the former girlfriend, and the teens, were "in cahoots."
Police say he initially denied any inappropriate contact with his coworkers and claimed that he never threatened anyone.
During a second interview, police say English stated that he had "consensual sex" with the first victim, but denied raping her.
According to online court records, English faces a variety of charges, including rape-forcible compulsion, attempted involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, witness intimidation, sexual assault and making terroristic threats.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 3rd.
6 News reached out to McDonald's corporate and received the following statement.
“I was devastated to learn about these allegations last summer. As a small business owner here in Clearfield, it’s vitally important to me that my employees feel safe and protected at work. Harassment or assault of any kind has absolutely no place in our organization. Immediately upon learning of these complaints, we took action to suspend and ultimately terminate this former employee.” – the local McDonald’s Owner/Operator
